DIY Kintsugi Ring Dish

Inspired by the traditional Japanese method of repairing broken dishes with gold, these kintusi ring dishes are a beautiful way to organize your jewelry. Get the full tutorial at HomemadeBanana.com #diy #ringdish #kintsugi #goldKintsugi was a recent revelation to me, although it is ancient in origin. Simply put, it’s the Japanese method of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer mixed with gold. Philosophically, it embraces the journey of an object, highlighting any breaks that occur throughout its use and rendering it more beautiful through repair and continued utility. I think that’s a pretty lovely sentiment, don’t you?

Everything Pumpkin Seeds Recipe

After you've carved your pumpkins, roast the seeds with butter and everything bagel seasoning. #fall #everythingbagel #pumpkin #recipeEverything seasoning is, well, everything. It’s been popping up pretty much everywhere over the past couple of years and there’s good reason for that—it’s really the perfectly curated combination of savory flavors all in an easily sprinkle-able form.  I’ve been known to sprinkle it on my eggs, on my toast and even on my popcorn. Buddha’s Hand Clarified Milk Punch

Celebrate Halloween with a clarified milk punch cocktail made with playfully creepy Buddha's hand. Get the recipe at HomemadeBanana.com #halloween #cocktail #happyhour #recipeI spotted the yellow-green tentacles of a Buddha’s hand citron reaching out from the international corner of the produce section at my local grocery store last week, and I immediately put one in my cart. The clerk stared incredulously down as the fragrant citrus passed through her hands and I explained that it was like a sweet-scented lemon with no juice or bitterness that’s most commonly used in Asia. Thanks to Ashley over at Craft & Cocktails, I’d been wanting to try my hand at making a clarified milk punch, and I knew that Buddha’s hand would make the perfect main ingredient. I complemented the sweet citrus notes with gin, Earl Grey tea a dash of clove to round it all out.

DIY Monogrammed Phone Case

Personalize your phone with a designer-inspired case hand painted with a pretty monogram. Get the full tutorial at HomemadeBanana.com #craft #diy #phonecase #monogramI finally upgraded to a new phone because I ran out of storage on my old phone (too many photos) and I really wanted to get my hands on that updated iPhone camera. And with a new phone comes the need for a new phone case. I’ve long been drawn to the Chaos case favored by Victoria Beckham and Alexa Chung but I’m not quite willing to drop $250 on a monogrammed phone case, even if it is made from leather.

But after drooling over the expensive version for a few months, I spotted a simple faux-leather phone case at Nordstrom and realized how easy it would be to monogram it myself. Keep reading to see how I created a custom stencil for this project.

Frozen Dark and Stormy Recipe

Toast to the end of summer with this frozen take on the classic dark and stormy cocktail. Get the full recipe at HomemadeBanana.com #cheers #happyhour #rumWe officially have just one more day of summer left, so I’ve decided to celebrate with a happy hour tipple that combines the imbibable trend of the sunny season (the frozen drink) with a cocktail I inherently associate with fall: the dark and stormy. It gets its name from the tempestuous blend of dark rum and spicy ginger beer that results in a comforting cocktail that’s both bracing and refreshing.

If you’re wondering exactly how to toast the end of the season, scroll down to get the super simple recipe.
