I love an all-black ensemble as much as the next girl, but I’ve never been one to shy away from bold prints and bright colors. However, I’ve noticed that anytime I wear something like this pair of red and blue patterned silky trousers, I get comments like, “I love those pants, but I could never wear something like that!” To the doubters I say: you can, you should, and here’s how:
It’s all about balance. I paired these peacock-y trousers with a plain black tee and tweed jacket with strong shoulders to add some structure to the outfit. Then I anchored the look with my new favorite flats and topped it all off with a burgundy lip. Since I wanted to keep the focus on my pants, I kept my accessories pretty simple—a few rings and a red jeweled bib necklace.
These pants may be fancy, but they came from Target (shh!) so they most certainly didn’t come with a fancy price tag. Plus a day spent in these silky trousers pretty much feels like a day spent in pjs—so there’s really no excuse not to slip into some patterned pants right this second.
