Last year, I went to Coachella without really thinking too much about what I would wear. Once I got there, I realized that the festival had a dress code of its own—and I was completely unprepared. So this year, I was determined to dress the part. I wanted to embrace the flower child festival spirit without looking like I was wearing a costume. I also wanted to buy pieces that I could incorporate into my daily life in SF and that would be comfortable for a day and night spent in the desert.
So, I took a trip to Forever 21. Since I was on the hunt for more trendy pieces, I wasn’t too worried about buying things that would last beyond the season. I knew I wanted to try out the crop top trend (without baring too much), so I opted to pair this blue ikat top with a high-waisted asymmetrical maxi skirt. I added in a few Southwestern-inspired accessories and obligatory round sunnies, slipped on my wristband and skipped into the sunset a happy hippie—for the weekend, at least.
