We’re almost half-way through May, which means that we’ve officially started the countdown to wedding season. Not only will my little sister be getting married this summer (!!!), but I’ll be attending a smattering of other nuptials over the next few months.
Dancing, toasting, catching up with old friends, witnessing romance at its finest—I love pretty much everything about weddings. I also love that it gives me an (all too infrequent) excuse to dress up. It’s never fun to run around last-minute looking for something to wear to a wedding, so when I saw this little lace number at Forever 21, I immediately decided to add it to my cocktail attire stockpile.
You know how sometimes you take a whole heap of things into the dressing room, debate the fit and functionality of each item and walk out with maybe one or two things that you’re still not even sure you should buy? This dress was not like that. I saw it on a rack across the room and knew right away it would be coming home with me. The rich navy color, the flattering fit, the scalloped lace detail on the sleeves and hem—everything added up to one chic (and expensive-looking) dress. Piled on pearls and comfortable nude dancin’ shoes are just the icing on the wedding cake.
