Did you know about the jacarandas? Apparently they’re sort of a thing in LA. Twice a year, most notably in spring, they blossom all over the city. And I mean all over. On a recent weekend getaway to LA, I noticed these Seussian trees lining almost every street from Venice to West Hollywood.
The above photo doesn’t quite capture their neon luminescence. Planted firmly between purple and blue, the blossoms embody the perfect color for spring: periwinkle.
Clearly I fell under the influence of these trees since I promptly paid a visit to the local Nordstrom Rack and purchased a very jacaranda-like tank top. And then I would say a sort of obsession developed—speaking of which, do you think anyone would understand my costume if I dressed up as a jacaranda for Halloween this year?
Until October rolls around, I suppose I’ll have to settle for hoarding my favorite powdery purple looks. These cuffed lilac shorts are definitely on my To Buy list. And I have been wanting a Cambridge Satchel Co. bag for awhile now…
Lavender goes with everything, right?
