This, in the biz, is what we like to call a Man Repeller lewk. That is, it’s a little bit quirky and decidedly unsexy—I mean, the phrase “denim culottes” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. And I’m totally okay with that. In fact, I really leaned into it. Rather than trying to tone down the wide-leg silhouette, I decided to go full-on granny chic with the addition of a classic oxford top, a bow-tied scarf and oversized floral earrings that have a decidedly vintage vibe. A slightly slouched denim jacket completes the Canadian tuxedo and helps ward off the last of the winter chill in the air.

As you’ll recall, I’m almost two full months into my year of no shopping, and it’s going great! I’ve started really digging into the archives (that’s what fancy people call the past-season stuff hanging in their closets, right?) to remix things in a fresh way. What that means is two things: 1. I’m feeling more inspired to put together outfits than I have in a really long time. 2. Most of the clothes I’ll be posting here have long since sold out. However, I’ve done my very best to search out similar styles for you to shop, if you so please.
