I always love the Chanel couture shows, but I have to admit that it wasn’t the noteworthy sneakers or It Girl finale that really caught my eye this season. It was the eyes themselves. Peter Philips created this glittery winged look to complement Lagerfeld’s “futuristic nightclub” scene, and it’s one I’d like to replicate for my next night out.
Glitter Eyeliner: Sephora // Liquid Liner: Maybelline // Eye Kohl: MAC
While I didn’t want to go full Disco Eye, I was eager in incorporate some under-eye glitter for a subtle sparkle. For this look, I started by extending the line of my eyelid with liquid liner to create the wing. Once I filled that in and brought the line in about halfway to my inner eye, I added a layer of my everyday MAC eye kohl to ensure a smooth line on the lid.
Then, I applied about 2–3 layers of glitter below my lower lashes. I opted for this blush-colored glitter for a subtle look that stayed in the same color family as my usual blush/eyeshadow combination. For the final touch, I added a healthy dose of mascara (read: about three coats).
This finished look is the perfect real-life interpretation of Chanel’s couture cat eye and a great night-out alternative to the standard smokey eye. Now I just need a pair of those sneakers and a glass of Champagne.
