“P” Is for Parrot

Due to my well-documented obsession with the parrot print, I found this statement midi skirt on a site called Romwe. I had never heard of it before, and the price almost seemed too good to be true, but after a brief inner debate, I decided to risk it and order the skirt figuring my loss wouldn’t be too large if it didn’t turn out well.

I’m happy to report that I am more than pleased with the order—the quality and colors of the skirt are so great in real life, and I got several compliments on it throughout the day (one person even asked if it was Kate Spade). The shipping did take awhile, but I plan on ordering more pretty midi skirts from Romwe in the near future.

I really just couldn’t get enough of those rhodies while in Oregon the other week. Their colorful blooms inspired me to whip out my most colorful statement necklace, which also happens to run the ROYGBV spectrum. I don’t usually wear this necklace, as much as I love admiring it hanging on the wall in my room, because it’s just so…bold…that I hadn’t quite figured out what to wear it with.

Then came timely outfit inspiration from the lovely Lemon Stripes. And it’s brilliant. What better to pair with the ultimate bling than a double dose of the ultimate casual neutral: denim. Now, those who know me know that I prefer skirts to pants and didn’t own so much as a pair of jeans a few years ago. But after three years of living in San Francisco, I’ve not only adopted the pant, I’ve embraced denim—from head to toe. And guess what? It’s really comfortable! Add in a color-saturated, sparkly necklace and this outfit feels just girly enough.
