Why Refrigerate?
Refrigeration keeps the strawberries fresh and prevents the chocolate from melting. Why Not Freeze?
Freezing chocolate-covered strawberries can cause problems:
- The strawberries become mushy once thawed.
- The chocolate may develop a white, chalky appearance (called sugar bloom).
- The chocolate can crack due to moisture changes.
However, if you want to store them long-term, you can freeze them for a firmer, frozen treat. Just eat them straight from the freezer without thawing to avoid sogginess.
