Do you Put Chocolate Covered Strawberries in the Fridge or Freezer?

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

You should store chocolate-covered strawberries in the fridge, not the freezer.

Why Refrigerate?

Refrigeration keeps the strawberries fresh and prevents the chocolate from melting. Place them on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper and cover them loosely with plastic wrap or an airtight container. They typically last up to 48 hours in the fridge before the strawberries start to release moisture and soften.

Why Not Freeze?

Freezing chocolate-covered strawberries can cause problems:

  • The strawberries become mushy once thawed.
  • The chocolate may develop a white, chalky appearance (called sugar bloom).
  • The chocolate can crack due to moisture changes.

However, if you want to store them long-term, you can freeze them for a firmer, frozen treat. Just eat them straight from the freezer without thawing to avoid sogginess.
